SUPER LUMINA

2023

SUPER LUMINA is a complex system, a transmedial organism based on spectral interaction between two different wave forces: sound and light.

The starting idea of the work was to create an interaction between a generated audio spectrum and a reactive light one, considering that the projected material is not going to hit a plain, white surface. The “canva” indeed, is a pattern of colored areas with which the “video” must relate in order to obtain the audio-relative spectrum.

The work is thought to have a dual nature: a latent stage (audiovisual installation), and a disrupted stage (live performance). During the latent stage, the audience will be able to observe the visual and auditory elements of the opera in a more contemplative and immersive way.

The installation will be an interactive experience, where the audience can explore the different possibilities of the audio-visual interaction, and the relationship between light and sound.

On the other hand, the disrupted stage will be a dynamic and transformative experience, in which the audience will be able to see the relationship between light and sound in all its potential, and how it affects the pattern of colored areas, creating new and unexpected visual experiences.

BINDING OR NOT BINDIG COMMITMENT

2019

In the site-specific performance 'Binding or not Binding Commitment,' conceived by Carlo Caloro and realized by Edoardo Maria Bellucci (sound design, computer development), Giuseppe Cozzuto (responsible for the implementation of Neurofeedback), and EVO Ensemble (Virginia Guidi, Veronica Bartolomei, Emanuele Gizzi, Alessandro Cavazzani), four performers are interconnected through the use of electrodes. These electrodes record the patterns of their primary brainwaves, which govern and influence the manner in which sounds are generated. The greater the degree of cognitive harmony among the four, the higher the level of constructive cooperation among the four 'synthetic' voices, which in turn influence the perception of the performers themselves. It forms a circuit of sonic-cognitive feedback.

PIANO DI CURVE SONORE

2019

Piano di curve sonore is a plastic device of emotional behavior, an artistic representation of the empathic faculty of the human being.

In its resonating, the sculpture feels (listens) and reflects the emotion of the one who touches it. This person, in turn, will adjust their way of interacting with it in a dialogue, regulating tones, pressure, movement, and volumes based on the response. It is a new and unexplored way of producing sound: the performer - any visitor ready to put their hands on the keyboard - has in front of them a means they thought they knew and instead finds themselves learning, discovering a new process, a different way of relating to sound, and adjusting the acoustic response to the sculptural work it responds to.
