SUPER LUMINA
installation
Edoardo Maria Bellucci : Sound Artist
Edoardo Staffa : Video Artist
SUPER LUMINA is a complex system, a transmedial organism based on spectral interaction between two different wave forces: sound and light.
The starting idea of the work was to create an interaction between a generated audio spectrum and a reactive light one, considering that the projected material is not going to hit a plain, white surface. The “canva” indeed, is a pattern of colored areas with which the “video” must relate in order to obtain the audio-relative spectrum.
The work is thought to have a dual nature: a latent stage (audiovisual installation), and a disrupted stage (live performance).
During the latent stage, the audience will be able to observe the visual and auditory elements of the opera in a more contemplative and immersive way. The installation will be an interactive experience, where the audience can explore the different possibilities of the audio-visual interaction, and the relationship between light and sound. On the other hand, the disrupted stage will be a dynamic and transformative experience, in which the audience will be able to see the relationship between light and sound in all its potential, and how it affects the pattern of colored areas, creating new and unexpected visual experiences.
